Biggest Network Marketer Mistakes: Making It Look Too Easy

I’m thrilled to bring to Network Marketers’ the biggest mistakes they make, especially when they’re amateurs. This can cause slow growth and painful progress as you try to build your organization and grow your business. Anyone who has tried network marketing has made more than one of these mistakes, and probably all of them in some form. If you’re ready to blow up your business in the hemisphere, read on and take notes.

A big mistake network marketers make is that they make it look too easy. Inexperienced network marketers tend to make their prospects believe that it is easy. It is simple, but it is not easy. They make it sound like you’ll get rich working a 2-hour workweek. They’ll tell you things like, “All you have to do is hand this out. All you have to do is get people on the call. All you have to do is get people to come to the meeting. This is easy!” !”. Good really? Is that what you want in your downline? People who really don’t want to work? I do not. I want entrepreneurs, people who are as hungry as I am, people who are looking for the gold ring because they know it is available and are willing to work to go out and get it. Do you really want people who aren’t willing to feel a little awkward for a while? I want people who are going to go out and talk to their friends, their family, their neighbors, their business contacts and who aren’t afraid to make a friend or two wherever they go. I want people who go to seminars and conventions, people who do their best to get the message across.

I’m telling you, making it sound too easy is one of the biggest mistakes new and inexperienced network marketers can make. They say things like, “Our marketing plan is the best! Our compensation plan is the best! Our products are the best, they sell themselves! Our product flies off the shelves and money comes right back in and we don’t have to do anything!” Now I know I sound crazy to you, but that’s how you sound to them: CRAZY! But then, 2 weeks into the deal, they find out it’s not that easy and they leave. You can’t tell a prospect that he’s lucky enough to be making $25,000 a year that by this time next year he’ll be making a million. That doesn’t square with them, so don’t try to make it sound easy. You’ll be better off in the long run if you look for more qualified prospects. People who are not trying to get rich quick but are really looking for an opportunity. One of the biggest mistakes of the novice network marketer is telling a new person that this is easy. Stop telling them it’s so easy!

I hope you enjoyed this segment and I look forward to sharing more of my experiences with you in the coming days.
