Christopher Sheridan – A Review

As you may have already discovered, I am an itinerant music writer. It is my passion to write reviews about talent and my duty is to write about music scammers as well. In the ever-changing world of music, there are several factors one must use to judge talent and artistry. Some of these factors come into play when I decide to review a solo artist. These factors include the weather or not, said artist is interested in what he writes, or the weather is just a “cover band”. Another factor I use to judge an artist is the quality of the recordings they produce. I finally judge the artist by her fan base. These factors; with all of which my next artist scored very high. My next artist is Christopher Sheridan from Moline Illinois.

I recently had the honor of speaking with Christopher to discuss his new album “I Think It’s Time” and his yearning to expand his standing and bring his brand of music to the masses. When I walked into G’s Waterfront Cafe, where Chris was getting ready to play a sold-out CD release party, the only thing that struck me from the start was his humble and appreciative attitude. I realized that Chris was the “genuine deal”, a true songwriter. As the night wore on, his talent and diverse playing style shone through, like the glare of a beacon. After the opening acts of Smash Addams and Lucy Dawn ended up there unpolished, a train wreck of a Beatles tribute; It was as if the hand of god had parted the clouds so that the real show could go on.

“Just so you know what kind of person Chris is,” he wouldn’t touch his show until every person at G’s put some cash in a basket, to help Lucy and Smash get home. then he moved on to his material. “I was impressed by Chris’s musical genius.”

About three days later I had to call Christopher and interview him. I was looking forward to writing a review about such a genuine person. Chris told me about the many events in his life and how they helped him create the material for his “I Think its Time” album. Chris also told me how his mother was a huge influence on his music career. he said his mother would never let him do things the easy way. He mentioned that “luck comes to the one who is most prepared.” As our conversation drew to a close, I asked Chris if he had any plans to play at Soldier Field in the future. he just said the title of his amazing album to answer me. “I think it’s time.”

“Thank you for reading!”
