Horses and ponies can be kindred spirits

Any animal can become a soul mate with a human, but horses and ponies have the most incredible ability to find affinity with children.

If you want your child to find the meaning of real unconditional love, then get him a pony because there is nothing that can compete with the empathy that can be formed between a human and a horse or pony. Oh yes, a horse or a pony and a girl (or a boy) are soul mates. I have had relationships with horses my entire life and have had a strange affinity with all of them.

Some people are naturally attracted to horses; I am simply one of them. It is instinctive and extremely rewarding to meet kindred spirits along life’s path, no matter who or what that kindred spirit is. My first pony was a family pet named Snowy; My mother had bought Snowy for my older sister at a horse and pony sale. It turned out that Snowy had been doped prior to the sale to behave in a tame manner.

When my mother brought Snowy home and the drug was gone, Snowy turned out to be completely wild and no one, especially a little boy, couldn’t ride him. Mom had professionals trying to endorse and train Snowy, but Snowy didn’t want any of that, so my family kept her just as a pet. Snowy simply lived her life without being ridden, as the only other alternative would have been to be euthanized, and no one with a heart could have done this, least of all my animal-loving mother.

At the age of four I had become very close friends with Snowy, she was with me an adorable animal of nature, and we became the best of friends, we loved each other and we became what is called soul mates. Together we wandered the grounds of the mansion we lived in, me Snowy and Trixie, my rescued Border Collie, the three inseparable.

I’d lie down on the front lawn, with Snowy’s head on my lap or mine on his neck, and we’d be loving each other. When I was five, Snowy would kneel down and let me sit on my back, roam the gardens with me on top, no studs or anything like that. She was only holding her main and she decided which way she wanted to go. She was gentle and loving to me as I was to her, and we formed a bond that could never be broken, we really were soul mates.

We lost Snowy to old age when I was twelve years old, she passed away with her head in my lap, she went to sleep and did not wake up, very calm and painless.

I will always remember Snowy with love in my heart and I know that one day, when my day comes, we will be together again, kindred spirits in the time that is already gone, and also in the future to come.
