How to Clean Your Betta Fish Vase or Bowl

Today I would like to tell you how to clean your betta fish tank or vase. This method works great if you have marbles, marble-sized stones, plastic gems, or anything like that as a substrate. NOTE: I do not recommend housing your beta fish in such a small place.. I recommend that you keep your betta fish in a 5 or 10 gallon aquarium.

However, I will continue to tell you how to clean and change the water in these small spaces. Hoping that one day, he will put his friend in a bigger tank.

First, you will need the following items on hand to complete the job.

1. A small cup big enough to put fish in while cleaning your bowl or vase. You will also need a lid or lid for the bowl to prevent the fish from jumping out. The mug and lid you actually bought the betta house in will work great.

2. A 1 to 5 gallon bucket to hold dirty fish water.

3. A small net that you will use to catch your fish

4. A turkey baster

5. A water conditioner to remove chlorine from the replacement water.

6. Replacement water, whether it is tap water that has been inactive for 24 hours or bottled water, will work very well.

7. Paper towels

HERE ARE THE STEPS TO FOLLOW

Step 1

Move your beta fish to the small cup filled with water. If there is room to do so, you can either dip the cup directly into the bowl or vase and catch the fish directly into the cup, or you can fill the cup with some plain betta water, fish the fish and add it to the cup. Bowl. Don’t forget to put the lid on the mug.

Step 2

Remove all decorations and place on paper towels. All that should be left in the vase or bowl is the water and the gravel.

Step 3

Using the turkey syringe, squeeze the bulb and place the other end of the syringe on the substrate. Release the bulb from the baster and a stream of water will fill the baster. This drop of water should be full of dirt and debris. Now pour the dirty water into your 1 to 5 gallon bucket.

Step 4

Continue with step 3 several times, each time you move the syringe to another location within the substrate. Remove one-quarter to one-half of the betta water through the turkey baster and continue to pour the dirty baster water into the bucket.

Step 5

Rinse the decorations under warm running water with your fingers or a very soft brush to clean them.

Step 6

Replace the decorations and add the water you took out with the bottled or tap water. Add the water conditioner then gently to the betta and the water into the cup, back into your vase or bowl.

Step 7

Empty the bucket of dirty water down a toilet.

You have now finished cleaning your betta vase or fish tank. Congratulations
