Human Relations in the 21st Century – Relations in the Internet Age

We are in the 21st Century… and here life is Busy… Very Busy. “We don’t have time” that’s what we say to others. Let’s see, if we don’t have time or if we don’t know how to manage our time or our intentions are not correct.

We all carry mobile phones (also known as “Hand Phones” and “Cell Phones” in other parts of the world)… all the time, walking, eating, working, traveling… even at bedtime too, but no we have time to send a message or call our parents or relatives.

In this era, it is impossible to think of a life without the Internet (Before having the Internet at home was a status symbol… but now it is a necessity)… we have the Internet at the office… we have the Internet at home, but not we find not even a few minutes in a day to write a few words for our friends.

We are living in the Jet-Age… we can get anywhere… anywhere in the world, in less than 24 hours. But we don’t have time to see our brothers… brothers or sisters… who live in the same city, probably in the same neighborhood.

We never forget to read the newspaper or watch television to keep up with the latest news…the latest happenings in the world…but we hardly have time to know what is happening in our neighborhood or in our family.

We have time to go to movies, picnics, shopping malls, but we don’t have time to visit our children at their school or university and ask them about their performance… their strengths and areas for improvement and if we don’t have time… then, Of course, they will be arrogant, selfish, rude and behave in the same way that I mentioned in my last article “Learn from experience”.

In this fast-paced world… we are growing… growing in terms of wealth, recognition, fame, rewards, etc… but what we are losing is… these “Human Relationships”.

Time moves fast…people are growing up fast. The mantra of life is “The more I get, the more I want.” Gone are the days when people used to say: “Saayian Itna Deejeye jaamey kutumb samaye. Mein bhi Bhukha na rahoon, Sadhu na Bhukha Jaaye” (Oh God, I don’t need anything extra, I just need to be enough to take care of my guests and my family.

I’ve seen couples staying in the same house or probably in the same room… but they only meet on weekends. Only on weekends do they have time to talk to each other.

For years together… we don’t see our brothers and then when we meet we say “Oh, my lovely niece… Itni si thi jab dekhi thi. Kitni Badi ho gayi hai” (The last time I saw you.. . . you were just a child, now you have grown a lot). If you don’t have time… your niece won’t stop growing, right?

Friends… the purpose and emotions involved in this relationship have gone to waste. We only call our friends… when we need to. I know… some of my “acquaintance friends” who call only when they need some work… or some advice or suggestion.

So where are we really going? Where are we headed? Is this what we all want in our lives? Are we willing to pay this cost for what we want in our life? We have to look within to find the answer. Are we so bad at managing our time? But we are so poor in understanding the importance of “Human Relations”.

Nobody likes… “opportunistic relationships” or “necessity relationships”… people want to be in contact. Spending time on these relationships…is not a waste of time…but rather a “PROPER INVESTMENT OF TIME”.

Well, these are my views on “Human Relations” and its importance. You may have different perceptions… different thoughts and beliefs. Let me have your comments and opinions on this.

We look forward to your comments and opinions.

Have a nice day and keep in touch. Take care of yourself… because you are different… you are special.
