Move to the beat on a Jamaica vacation

When you’re thinking about where to go for your next relaxing getaway with the kids, think about a family vacation in Jamaica. Jamaica is such a beautiful island, and it’s not just for adults, as there are at least 5 kid-friendly resorts we can recommend.

They are all-inclusive resorts, which means you know what you’re paying for up front and can relax without worrying about extra costs while the kids choose what they want to do and what they want to eat.

There are only three in the Sandals group of resorts. They are in the Beaches category (others in the Sandals group are the adult version) and are located in Boscobel, Negril, and Sandy Bay.

On the north shore, Boscobel offers adults the opportunity to relax on a soft beach while the kids have fun in a huge and beautiful state-of-the-art water park, pirate island and play garage. Older kids and teens are also welcome at the golf and country club for activities. Competent babysitters can be hired after hours if parents want a quiet evening.

Negril, which is located on the famous 7 Mile Beach, also has the game garage and pirate island, but also has a Sesame Street-themed Caribbean adventure. What is sure to keep teens happy is a nightclub of their own; parents are not allowed.

Sandy Bay has very similar amenities, but also emphasizes exercise with a fitness center and two pools. There are also complementary water sports like snorkeling, water skiing, and kayaking that the whole family can do together.

Franklin D Resort in spectacular Ochos Rios truly exceeds expectations. Each family is assigned a personal babysitter for all vacations. They take care of the children as if they were their own, leaving the adults free all day who would like to have a real vacation. These “more than babysitters” often get along so well with everyone that families want to go back and ask for the same babysitter.

Lastly, you can have this same wonderful help in FDR Pebbles. It’s perhaps more convenient than other resorts for people who don’t have a lot of travel time, being only 45 minutes from the airport.

Will you have a good time on your vacation in Jamaica? Will your children enjoy this beautiful Caribbean island? We can almost guarantee, “Yah, Mon.”
