Should SeaWorld be closed?

The politically correct crowd has pointed to the extinction of another business.

SeaWorld has been criticized for the way it treats its whales and dolphins. It has been claimed that animals are treated unfairly and keeping them in captivity is cruel and unusual punishment.

On the contrary, no evidence of abuse has been substantiated. By all indications, animals are treated humanely, well fed, and protected from natural predators. They are loved not only by their caretakers but also by the general public.

Thousands of children come every year to enjoy his antics and learn more about the world around them, something that is urgently needed in today’s society.

No evidence has been presented that the animals suffer due to their captive environment. In fact, animals would benefit from the attention and care they receive from their human counterparts. They do not receive any of that in the nature of the deep blue sea, where they constantly have to be on guard against being eaten.

Many say it’s cruel to keep them locked up so they can’t roam the seas freely, I’m not so sure.

The same goes for animals in zoos and the circus. Most of the animals are well kept and adequately fed. The owners have invested too much money in them to do otherwise. There are probably some cases where this is not true. Those cases must be handled individually, we must stop punishing everyone for the actions of a few.

I would ask these same people if they have a pet like a dog or a cat.

It would remind them that cats and dogs once roamed the great outdoors and weren’t domesticated.

What about goldfish or parakeets? They are also kept in captivity.

Perhaps we should release these animals as well to roam freely and be subject to the whims of their predators.

I see no difference in taming whales and dolphins than in taming dogs or cats.

In both cases, people and the animals themselves benefit. Humans really enjoy having pets around them, they have a lot of therapeutic value. The animals themselves benefit from being cared for, all their nutritional needs are met, they no longer have to defend themselves against other animals who would like to turn them into food, and their health needs are well catered for as well.

It is time for us to stand up to these organizations spreading false information about well-intentioned companies that provide us with an enjoyable educational entertainment venue.

Keeping whales and dolphins in captivity is no different than having a dog or cat as a pet.

Thinking differently is ridiculous and narrow-minded.

It has been reported that attendance at SeaWorld parks has been reduced by 75 percent, losing SeaWorld and other similar parks would be an injustice not only to the parks but also to humanity. Let’s stop the madness.
