The Motorola Spice offers something different

The Motorola Spice is a soon to be released phone that offers simple text capabilities along with touch screen functionality. Furthermore, it offers web access and a variety of useful entertainment features to attract its users. The unit measures 97mm x 61mm wide and 16mm thick and weighs 145g. It is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2010.

The phone comes with a 3.0-inch TFT touch screen, which offers excellent image and color representation, within a screen size of 240 x 320 pixels. For navigation purposes, the phone uses the Moto blur user interface, with the added benefit of live updates, while a variety of touch sensitive controls are also provided as standard. The unit comes with a recoil touchpad as well as an accelerometer sensor for automatic image rotation.

The phone’s phone book can hold a virtually unlimited number of entries, while also providing photo call functionality. In addition, the phone’s call logs feature provides information related to dialed, missed, and received calls. The unit comes with a speaker, a 3.5mm audio jack, and the option to use MP3 and WAV ringtones in addition to the standard ring and vibration options.

The phone uses the Android operating system which is classified as version 2.1 while from the connectivity point of view the unit offers Wi Fi and HSDPA connectivity providing web access while GPRS and EDGE connections are also incorporated from Serie. To complete the available options, a microSD card slot is provided that allows the user to expand the available memory capacity, up to 32 GB, plus micro-USB and bluetooth connections are also included.

The unit comes with a variety of social networking integration features including Facebook, Twitter and MySpace. In addition, the unit also incorporates Google search, Gmail, YouTube, chat and Google maps functions. Entertainment is provided by virtue of the FM radio, a variety of games, as well as an MP4/MP3 music and video player. Satellite navigation is also available with the unit, which benefits from A-GPS support. The unit comes with a 3.15 megapixel camera that works at 2048 x 1536 pixels and includes geotagging, while also providing the opportunity to record video as an alternative to still images.
